tales of a student teacher.

I'm a senior at the University of Hartford studying elementary education, currently doing my student teaching in a fifth grade classroom in Hartford. I'm starting to think about having my own classroom, and want to get as much inspiration from as many sources as possible.

'A great teacher can offer an escape from poverty to the child who dreams beyond his circumstance. Every person...can point to a teacher who changed the trajectory of their lives.' -Barack Obama

Every single principal in the city of Hartford will be walking around my school and observing random classes as part of their principal’s meeting. This wouldn’t be an issue if:

  1. Tomorrow wasn’t a half day, and half day means “Literacy all day”
  2. I wasn’t the one teaching Literacy tomorrow

Hence: at any given moment tomorrow, any principal from the city of Hartford could see me teaching a lesson. Which means I could either impress them/cause them to want to hire me or repulse them/have myself blacklisted in Hartford.

NO PRESSURE.
